Our free SharePoint assessment covers: (1) Security posture — permission model review, external sharing configuration, Conditional Access policies, and sensitivity label coverage; (2) Governance health — site sprawl analysis, orphaned sites, naming conventions, and lifecycle management; (3) Performance indicators — storage utilization, large list warnings, and search configuration review; (4) Migration readiness — if you're on SharePoint Server, we assess your environment for SharePoint Online migration complexity; (5) Copilot readiness — over-permission analysis and data classification gaps that would create risk if Copilot is enabled. You receive a written report with prioritized findings and recommendations.

We deliver the assessment report within 5 business days of receiving read access to your SharePoint environment. The initial discovery call takes 30 minutes. We handle all the analysis work — no significant time investment required from your team beyond the kickoff call and access provisioning.

We need read-only access: Global Reader role in Microsoft 365 Admin Center (read-only, no administrative actions), SharePoint Admin Center read access, and Azure AD Reader role. We never require admin accounts with write or delete permissions for an assessment. All access is provisioned through a temporary service account that is removed after assessment delivery. We can provide a detailed access provisioning guide for your IT team.

Yes, completely free. The assessment takes our team approximately 8-12 hours to complete. We offer it because most organizations that receive an honest assessment find issues they want help resolving — which creates consulting opportunities for us. There is no obligation. You receive a detailed written report regardless of whether you engage us for further work. Organizations with mature environments who have no immediate needs are still welcome to request the assessment.

After receiving your assessment report, you have three options: (1) Act on the findings yourself using our recommendations; (2) Engage us for a specific remediation project (e.g., permissions cleanup, governance framework implementation); (3) Start an ongoing managed support relationship for continuous SharePoint health monitoring. There is no pressure — we provide the assessment as a service to the SharePoint community, and many clients we have assessed are not ready to engage consultants for months or years after.
